…Charges NPF Mortgage Bank to develop innovative housing solutions

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Suleiman Abba, has directed the NPF Mortgage Bank to come up with innovative ways of funding Police housing projects with the view to helping officers and men of the Force to own their own houses.

Abba spoke on Friday at the Force Headquarters, Abuja during the official commencement of the distribution of the NPF Mortgage Bank shares certificates to officers and men of the Force.

A statement by Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, ACP Frank Mba, said the measure is part of on-going efforts at tackling the housing needs of the Force and ensuring that every Police Officer has a roof over their head

“It would be recalled that the compulsory deduction of the sum of Eleven thousand (N11,000.00) Naira only from the emolument of all officers and men of the Force as a subscription fee for the ordinary share of the Police Mortgage bank sometime last year, gave automatic share-holding status to all Police personnel whose money were compulsorily deducted.

“The share-holding status will enable the Police take full ownership of the Mortgage Bank institution and equally enable them to benefit from the pidends as well as loans for the purposes of developing their own houses.

Meanwhile, the Inspector-General of Police has described the feat as a turning point in the history of the Force, and called on all officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force to take the advantage of the opportunities provided by the Police Mortgage institution to access different house-acquisition options available to them.
