Tinubu said that his efforts made Buhari President in 2015.

Tinubu, a leading Presidential aspirant of the made the comment while addressing APC delegates at the Presidential Lodge, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Tinubu who spoke in Yoruba to the delegates said that he was making a comment on the subject matter for the first time.

Tinubu recalled that Buhari contested many times for the Presidency and lost and got discouraged to the extent that he said he was not going to contest again.

He said he had to travel to Katsina to meet Buhari where he assured him that he would run and win but with a proviso that he must take issues involving the Yoruba seriously.

He said that since Buhari became President, he has not given him any political appointment nor contract insisting that it was his turn to take the President if it is going to the South West

“If not for me that led the war front, Buhari won’t have emerged. He contested first, second and third times, but lost. He even said on television that he won’t contest again.

“But I went to his home in Katsina, I told him you would contest and win, but you won’t joke with the matters of the Yorubas.

“Since he has emerged I have not been appointed Minister. I didn’t get nor request a contract. This time, it’s Yoruba turn and in Yorubaland, it’s my tenure.” He lamented,
