GUN MEN ISSUE ULTIMATUM TO WITHDRAW SOLDIERS FROM SOUTH EAST

The rampaging gunmen in the South East have issued a curious 48-hour ultimatum for the withdrawal of soldiers from the South East.

Those who issued the ultimatum are suspected to be the killers of the lawmaker representing the Aguata II Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Okechukwu Okoye and his aide.

The gunmen were said to have issued the ultimatum in a letter they kept beside the beheaded head of the murdered lawmaker.

The ruthless gunmen allegedly warned politicians in the South East to withdraw all soldiers from the South East in 48 hours.

It was gathered that while some of the words have been washed off by the rain the letter still showed the ultimatum.

Okoye, was abducted alongside his aide, Cyril Chiegboka, on May 15 but their gunmen beheaded the lawmaker and murdered his aide while negotiations their release were ongoing.

Okoye’s head was found at Nnobi in Idemili South Local government area of Anambra State on Saturday.

Okoye’s body was later discovered on Sunday at Chisco Park, Amichi, South in Anambra State several kilometers from where his head was found.

Family sources said that the kidnappers extracted N80 million from the family before killing the victims.
