By Tom Garba, Yola – The Governor of Adamawa states, Senator Muhammadu Jibrilla Bindow has called for a constructive online journalism that would promote development and peace.
Bindow spoke at a two days work shop on capacity building on strategic and effective information management for the staff of the ministry of information in the State.
The Commissioner of the Ministry and one of the resource person, Comrade Ahmad Ibrahim Sajoh who represented the governor, while declaring the workshop open urged participants to embrace new media but advised that it should be for constructive use.
“We want to train you on cyber war not to destroy but to built our dear state, Sajoh said, noting that the world is fast becoming a changing world, from analog to digital and from traditional to modern ways of passing information.
Sajoh whose remarks centred on basic writing skills, emphasized the need of constructive online Journalism that is gear toward developmental and peace journalism.
“We are into information age and the world has since became a global village, I recommend the present administration under the leadership of Senator Muhammadu Bindow who nursed the idea of informing the world about Adamawa state and tell Adamawa About the world”. Sajoh said
He added that the state Government has provide latest Tabloids (IPads) to all invited officer that will help them handle and become better online Journalist.
The workshop is to project the state good minerals resource, human and many other cultural potentials that are yet to be untapped to the outside world.
One of the resource persons and a Digital Journalist, Mr Tom Garba, described the information officers as commandants to be trained in order to handle and manage information concerning Adamawa state.
According to him the participants are to have the vast knowledge on how to create and maintain Blogs, Group creation and handling Know much about face booking, instagram, wattapps and other social media that has the capabilities of passing information in a multimedia way way.
