Fubara Commends Corps Members’ Contributions To Nation Building

News Investigators/ Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has commended members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) serving in the state for their contributions to nation-building.

Mr Fubara made the remark during the closing ceremony of the 2026 Batch B Stream I orientation course for corps members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Nonwa-Gbam, Tai Local Government Area(LGA), Rivers , on Tuesday.

The governor was represented by Mr Samson Dede, Permanent Secretary, Special Services Bureau, Office of the Secretary to the State Government.

Mr Fubara said that his administration was pleased with the corps members’ commitment and dedication to national development, describing their efforts as evidence that the hope Nigerians had placed in them was not misplaced.

He charged the corps members to be patriotic and exemplary in making a positive impact on the lives of members of their host communities during their primary assignments.

The governor urged them to maximise the NYSC Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme to acquire relevant skills, build capacity and develop the competence needed to compete favourably in the economy.

Mr Fubara also advised them to see the state as their home and take advantage of the hospitality and accommodating nature of the people in the communities where they would be posted.

In an address, the NYSC State Coordinator, Moses Oleghe, commended the corps members for their active participation in all camp programmes and activities.

Mr Oleghe also commended the security agencies for providing top-notch security in and around the camp.

He further applauded the chairmen of Tai and Ahoada East LGAs for their continuous support toward the success of NYSC operations in the state.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that a total of 3,517 corps members, comprising 1,574 males and 1,943 females, successfully completed the three-week orientation course in the state.
