Former CBN Deputy Governor, Kingsley Moghalu, Emerges Presidential Candidate of YPP

By Sadiq Umar – A former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Kingsley Moghalu, has emerged the presidential candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP).

Mr Moghalu emerged after a delegates’ election at the party’s first national convention and presidential primaries on Saturday in Abuja.

His only opponent, Donald Igwegbu, announced to the delegate that he was stepping down for Mr. Moghalu, after the former CBN deputy governor got 243 votes from 253 accredited delegates.

Mr Igwegbu, said he decided to step down for Mr Moghalu because he shared the same vision with him.

Mr Igwegbu called on party members and his supporters to support Mr Moghalu, while urging other politicians to emulate his spirit of sportsmanship.
