The five of the six sisters of the Al-Kadriyar family who were abducted from their home alongside their father have regained their freedom.
The Network gathered that the sisters were released on Saturday night.
While there are intensified security action against the recent surge of kidnapping in Abuja, the Network could not verify if the victims were freed by the security agencies as at the time of filing this report.
A brother to the father, Kabiru Aminu, disclosed the news of the release of the girls in a post on his X handle @kabiru_aminu, showing the sisters and their relatives jubilating.
“#Najeebahandhersisters are home right now, someone please wake me up!” he tweeted.
Bandits had swooped on the Al-Kadriyar family in the Zuma 1 Area, Bwari Area Council, on January 5, and abducted the father, Alhaji Mansoor, and his six daughters.
While carrying out the heinous crime, the bandits also shot dead the younger brother of Alhaji Mansoor, Abdulfatai, who invited the police for a rescue action.
The gunmen later released the father giving him seven day till January 12 to pay a ransom of N60 million to secure the release of his six daughters daughters.
When the money could not be raised, they murdered the first daughter, Nabeeha, a 400-level biological science student at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria to shock of the nation.
After days of agony, the rest sisters, Najeebah (500 level, Quantity Surveying), Nadheerah (300 level, Zoology), and the others were released.
