FG Sacks All Directors Of Agencies Under Aviation Ministry

All the directors of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN); Nigeria Metrological Agency (NiMET); Nigeria Airspace Management Agency (NAMA); Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and the Nigeria Safety and Investigation Bureau (NSIB), have been sacked by the Federal Government.

The sack carried out by, minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo in a statement by the Head, Press and Public Affairs, of the Ministry, Odutayo Oluseyi, titled: ‘Reorganisation in the Agency under the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development.’ 

On Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu sacked the Managing Director of FAAN, Kabir Mohammed; NAMA, Toyib Odunowo; the Director General of NiMet, Professor Mansur Matazu; the Director General of NSIB, Engr. Akin Olateru and suspended the the director-general of NCAA, Capt. Musa Nuhu.

He said the sack of the directors was part of the reorganisation and repositioning of the aviation industry in order to ensure safety and efficient air travel experience across the country.

According to Odutayo, all the agencies’ Board Secretaries and Legal Advisers were not affected by the new directive.

“Following the change in the leadership of the Aviation and Aerospace Development Agencies’ CEOs and MDs aimed to reposition the Aviation industry and ensure safety and efficient air travel experience by Nigerians in line with the Renewed Hope agenda of Mr. President.

“I am directed to inform all DIRECTORS of the following agencies that they have been relieved of their appointments forthwith and should hand over to the most senior officer in their various directorates with immediate effect

“The Directors of the affected agencies are as follows: Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN); Nigeria Metrological Agency (NiMET); Nigeria Airspace Management Agency (NAMA); Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA); Nigeria Safety and Investigation Bureau (NSIB)

“I am also to inform all the agencies’ Board Secretaries and Legal Advisers that they are not affected by this directive. All affected DIRECTORS are to ensure strict compliance, please,” the statement read.
