••• SAYS THERE IS A PLAN TO HAND OVER SEAT OF GOVERNMENT TO BANDITS
Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has said that the APC-led Federal Government is ignoring the incessant killings of innocent Nigerians.
Nathaniel Ikyur, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Ortom quoted him as having made the comment while speaking with journalists at the Benue Peoples House, on Wednesday.
Ortom was reacting to the murder of 24 persons during an attack of Benue communities by herdsmen on Monday.
Ortom said the Benue people would longer allow the unprovoked killings to continue, saying “enough is enough.”
Suspected Fulani herdsmen had killed eight persons in Mbadwem in Guma local government and 16 others in Tiortyu, Tarka Local Government along Makurdi-Gboko road.
Governor Ortom who described the attacks as “unfortunate and the height of impunity,’ accused the Federal Government of having a deliberate policy to ignore the repeated killings.
“The Governor recalled how he has always alerted Nigerians and the Federal Government on the murderous activities of the Fulani terrorists for many years, “yet they didn’t believe me. Now, they are gradually taking over every space in the country. We are now sharing our sovereignty with terrorists.
“Governor Ortom alleged that the plan of the herdsmen and their sponsors was to send the people away from their ancestral homes and take over the lands and cause confusion in the country so that the forthcoming elections may not hold. “ Ikyur said
He said that he is inclined to believe that there is a plan to hand over the country to bandits.
The Benue Governor stated further that
the rampaging bandits will soon take over some states and even the presidential villa.
“I suspect that very soon, some states will be completely taken over by these Fulani men called bandits. I suspect that very soon even the Presidential Villa will be handed over to them. I suspect strongly that this is their plan and so nobody should deceive me.” He said
Ortom alleged that there is a plan to hand over the country to the bandits and terrorists so that there would be no ejection.
“It is a plan to hand over to this Fulani men who are called bandits so there will be no election.” Ortom was quoted as having said
Ortom urged good spirited Fulani men close to the President to prevail on him to stop the killings going on in the land.
He warned that if nothing was done, the people would resort to self help which would throw the country into anarchy.
