The Nigerian in the Diaspora Commission has said that the Nigerian Embassy in Romania has made arrangements to receive those fleeing from the crisis in Ukraine.
The statement allays the fears of Nigerians in the troubled Eastern European nation that the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyema, is engaging top government officials and other organizations to render necessary assistance at the borders.
The statement with the title Important Information reads: “The Nigerian Embassy in Romania wishes to inform Nigerians arriving from Ukraine that arrangement has been put in place to receive them at the
Romanian entry points.

“For those experiencing difficulties at the borders, Our Minister, His
Excellency @GeoffreyOnyeama is currently engaging high authorities and
the Organization for Migration to assist.”
Since Russia invaded Ukraine, several people fleeing bombardment have been attempting to cross over to the nearby Romania which shared a land border with the country at the Siret border crossing.
