FG Approves N92.123bn for Abuja Airport Second Runway

… N14 BN TO TRAIN 50,000 N-POWER NON GRADUATES

The Federal Executive Council has approved N92,123,175,305.77 for the second runway of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

The Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika, made the disclosure while speaking with State House Correspondents at the virtual FEC meeting, presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday.

Sirika said that the N92.1 would be spent on various projects within the airport over a period of 12 months.

Sirika assured that the Federal Government would ensure that the funds needed for the project are raised just like case of other projects executed by the government.

FEC also approved the sum of N14 billion to train 50,000 non-graduates of N-power for a period of nine months.

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajia Sadiya Umar-Faroq, made the revelation while speaking with journalists after the weekly FEC.

She said that the N14 billion would be used to engage four Federal Government agencies which would be entrusted with the responsibility of training the beneficiaries for nine months.

The minister said the government would give starter packs to the beneficiaries at the end of the Programme.
