News Investigators/ The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Water Board has announced the restoration of potable water supply to Wuse 1, Wuse 2, Wuye, and Maitama Districts following brief disruptions.
The board’s Public Relations Officer, Umar Ako, disclosed this in a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday.
Mr Ako explained that water service was restored on Tuesday after engineers successfully completed emergency maintenance on the main trunk line.
He noted that the urgent repairs were necessary to avert a major system failure, assuring residents that the intervention has now secured a sustainable water supply for the affected districts and the broader FCT.
“The board appreciates residents and customers for their understanding, endurance and patience during the temporary disruption of water supply.
“We recognise the inconveniences caused by the maintenance work and sincerely thank residents for their cooperation while our engineers worked diligently to resolve the challenge,” he said.
The spokesperson reiterated the board’s dedication to efficient service delivery, emphasising that prompt responses to pipe bursts, leakages, and other technical issues remain a top priority.
Additionally, he appealed to customers to support the Board by settling their water bills promptly and in full, noting that timely payments enable the agency to sustain daily operations, perform routine maintenance, and maintain uninterrupted service.
