By Sadiq Umar – A member of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon. Afolabi Akanni has been released by the Department of State Seivices (DSS).
Unconfirmed report said Mr. Akanni who was released in Abuja Tuesday evening said he did not know the reason why he was being held by the security agency.
It would be recalled that the State Lawmaker was arrested within the premises of the Assembly of last week and moved to Abuja.
Mr.Akanni’s colleagues in the State Assembly have since embarked on protest to demand the release of the lawmaker, including peaceful processing to the American Embassy and British High Commission in Abuja.
Similarly, the State Government last week raised alarmed on the rumoured death of Mr. Akanni in DSS custody, forcing the security agency to parade the lawmaker at a press conference.
