EFCC Charges former Imo Governor, Okorocha, for Alleged Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has charged the former Imo state Governor for alleged fraud.

Okorocha was alleged to have conspired with others, including a top members of the APC and five companies, to divert N2.9 billion.

Okorocha had two weeks ago declared his intention to contest for the presidency in 2023

The EFCC filed 17 charges on Monday, January 31, at the Federal High Court, Abuja.

The court documents listed some of the defendants in the suit to include Anyim Nyerere Chinenye, Naphtali International Limited, Perfect Finish Multi Projects Limited, Consolid Projects Consulting Limited, Pramif International Limited, and Legend World Concepts Limited.

Okorocha represents Imo West Senatorial District in the Senate.

Briefing newsmen in Owerri the state capital, Okorocha had accused the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, of moves to sabotage his 2023 presidential ambition.
