Covid-19 Lockdown: Buhari To Speak Tonight

News Investigators/ President Muhammadu Buhari will address the nation Monday, April 27, 2020 at 8pm.

A statement by Presidential spokesman, Femi Adeniyi advised television, radio and other electronic media stations to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) respectively for the broadcast.

Mr. Buhari is expected to make definite statement on the second consecutive lockdown of 14-days which ends today.

The president had on March 30 declared a total lockdown in three states of Lagos, Abuja and Ogun as part of measures to stem the spread of the coronavirus disease in Nigeria.

Following the expiration of the second lockdown, the federal government panel on Covid-19 briefed the president on Sunday on the state of things. However, it is not yet clear whether the lockdown would be extended.

Earlier, governors of the 36 states under the platform of Governor’s Forum recommended to the president a transborder lockdown of states as a measure to curb the spread.
