The Federal High Court, Abuja, on Tuesday, said that it would deliver its ruling on the bail application filed by the former Chairman of defunct Pension Reform Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina, on Nov. 7.

Justice Okon Abang fixed the date, after taking arguments from the defence and prosecution counsel.

Mr. Maina and his son are facing trial over 12 counts bordering on “money laundering, operating fictitious bank accounts and fraud” filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Both have pleaded not guilty.

Meanwhile the trial was stalled on Tuesday, due to his ill-health

A medical letter was brought to the court by an officer of the Nigerian Correctional Services to Justice Okon Abang stating the reason Mr. Maina could not appear in court.

The court had fixed Nov. 4, Nov. 5, Nov 6 and Nov. 7 for continuation of trial of Maina.

However, at the resumed trial on Tuesday, Justice Abang, who adjourned till Nov. 7 ordered that the Deputy Comptroller General in charge of Medical and Welfare of the Nigerian Correctional Services should examine Mr. Maina and the medical report made available to the court in the next adjourned date.
