Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, Femi Adesina confirmed this in a tweet in the early hours of Saturday.

The deceased had tested positive to the ravaging COVID-19 after returning from an official trip to Germany.
He was isolated and had been receiving treatment until his death on Friday, April 17, 2020.
Funeral arrangements will be announced shortly.
The late Kyari was a journalist, businessman, Lawyer and Politicians. Born in Borno state to a Kanuri family, Mr. Kyari graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Warwick in 1980. He also has a bachelor’s degree in law from Cambridge University and was called to bar in 1983.
He also posses a master’s degree in Law and participated in a Management development course in Harvard Business School in 1992 and 1994.
