President Muhammadu Buhari is scheduled to meet the warring All Progressive Congress (APC) factions in the National Assembly at an emergence meeting in Abuja Friday.
It will be the first time Buhari will be meeting with the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki and Speaker Yakubu Dogara at the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party since the beginning of the leadership crisis that has pitched the duo with the party hierarchy.
The election of Saraki and Dogara coupled with the last week announcement of different names other than those of the party’s choice for the remaining principal officers’ position against the party’s will had further deepened the crisis.
Ahead of the Friday parley, Imo state governor, Mr. Rochas Okorocha, who is the chairman of the APC’s governors forum, has issued a notice the stakeholders governors to take position before the NEC meeting.
The governors are hopeful that the crises would be resolved by this weekend after previous meetings by the various interests in the party failed to calm matters.
