Buhari Returns To London Tuesday To See Doctor

Criticised for receiving medical treatment abroad

By Sadiq Umar – President Muhammed Buhari will on Tuesday return to London on a medical with his doctor.

Mr. Buhari had made a stop over in London last week on his way from the United States where he met President Donald Trump.

A statement by presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, indicates the trip will last four days.

Mr. Shehu said: “In the course of the technical stop-over for aircraft maintenance in London on his way back from Washington last week, the President had a meeting with his doctor,” the statement read.

“The doctor requested the President to return for a meeting which he agreed to do. President Buhari will return on Saturday, May 12th.

“On his return, the president’s two-day state visit to Jigawa, which was postponed because of the All Progressives Congress, APC’s Ward Congresses will now take place on Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th May.”

Mr. Buhari has been traveling to UK on medical ground over an undisclosed ailment since 2016. In 2017, the president spent over 150 days in London amid heightening tension at home about the state of his health.
