President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Umar Ibrahim El-Yakub as his Senior Special Assistant on National Assembly matters.
The appointment followed the resignation of Kawu Sumaila, former Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the President on National Assembly Matters for the House of Representatives.
Mr Sumaila resigned to contest for election into the House of Representatives to represent Sumaila/Takai Federal Constituency in Kano State on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
His successor, Mr El-Yakub, an APC stalwart from Kano State, was a former in 1999 and between 2003 and 2007 representing Kano Municipal Federal Constituency.
