The retreat under the themed: “Education in Nigeria: Challenges and Prospects” also had in attendance the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, ministers and cabinet officials.

The president described as unacceptable a situation where teachers were not different from their students in terms of learning.

Mr. Buhari decried the bad condition of the nation’s education sector as 13.2 million children were out of school.

Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu said the Buhari’s administration would require N1 trillion annually for the next four years to fulfill its 13 percent campaign promises on education.
