The Party ordered Mr. Abdulmumin to stop further statement through social media or any other means of transmitting an opinion on the matter to the public.

The directive was contained in a letter signed by party’s deputy national chairman, north, Lawal Shuaibu, dated August 4, 2016.

In the letter with reference number APC/NHDO/NAM/01/016/14, titled “The Crisis in the House of Representatives,” the Party said: Arising from the series of meetings we held with you over the subject matters, the National Working Committee had decided to request you to henceforth avoid issuing any public statement on this matter.

“This includes statements through social media or any other means of transmitting an opinion on the matter to the public, as the party is now looking into it towards finding possible solution.”

The party expressed concern over the escalation of the crisis, saying, “we found it embarrassing to have to deal with another new phenomenon you tagged “Budget Padding.

“As you are aware, the Party and indeed the Government have not been happy over recent development.”

The Party thanked Mr. Abdulmumin for honouring its earlier invitation and for affording it the chance to intervene in the crisis.
