By Sadiq Umar, Abuja – The Rivers State Election Petition Tribunal has nullified the election of Nyesom Wike as the Governor of Rivers State, even as it ordered fresh election.
The Tribunal after reviewing the arguments made by Wike and the petitioner, Dakuku Peterside of All Progressive Congress ruled that fresh governorship election be conducted in Rivers.
Wike had argued that the election was free and fair and he was duly returned governor. He asked the tribunal to strike out the petition.
But delivering its ruling in Abuja on Saturday, the Tribunal also ordered that a fresh governorship election be conducted in the state.
