A police Inspector, Ugwor Samuel, attached to Abia Assembly member, Hon. Ginger Onwusibe, has been shot dead in the state capital, Umuahia.
The deceased was shot dead by his fellow policeman Inspector Atule Benedict, who is also attached to the same Assembly member, Onwusibe.
Eye witness confirmed that there was altercation between the two policemen during which Inspector Atule shot the deceased Inspector.
Efforts to disarm him by other policemen in their team failed as he reportedly went berserk threatening to kill more policemen.
He was later said to have escaped to unknown destination with his AK-47 riffle.
The suspect handed himself over to SCIID Umuahia, where he was detained.
Our source confirmed that Investigation has already begun into the incident.
Meanwhile, remains of the deceased Inspector has been deposited at the FMC Umuahia mortuary.
