By Dipo Awojobi – The British Prime Minister, David Cameron, has announced its plan to step down after Britain voted to leave the European Union on Thursday.
Shortly after the results were announced, the Prime Minister announced he would be resigning from office by the next autumn following Britons decision to pull out of the EU.
He said he was convinced of the gains of Britain remaining in EU and that he pursued that belief having in mind the future of his country rather than for the advancement of any political ambition.
Cameron had worked hard to keep Britain in the EU, but majority of his people voted to exit the bloc and stay on their own.
The Prime Minister, in an emotional speech to the nation outside 10 Downing Street, Cameron stated that he would be leaving office in October 2016.
