Breaking: Army Neutralizes Gunmen, Recovers Ak47, Others in Imo

Many unknown gunmen who came to attack Army checking point Wednesday morning at Mgbidi, Oru West Local Government Area of Imo state were feared killed. 

Sources said the Nigeria army successfully neutralized the hoodlums, while some of them were killed, some escaped with bullet wounds.

The gallant soldiers were able to withstands the hoodlums who came in their numbers shooting sporadically at them. 

Items recovered at the scene are AK47, walkie-talkie, charms and others.

According to source in the Army (name withheld) who spoke to our reporter, the soldiers engaged then and two of them were brought down and one of thier A.K.A 47 riffles and security Walkie-talkie were recovered.

The source said two soldiers injured in the process are currently receiving treatment from sustained minor injuries.

When contacted the Army PRO of the 34 Artillery Brigade, Obinze Capt. Joseph Akubo confirmed the incident but said the official press release on the incident will be made by the Director Army Public Relations, Brig-Gen. Onyema Nwanchukwu.
