Bomb Explosion Hits Maiduguri, Scores Fear Dead

Another bomb explosion has occurred in Maiduguri, Borno state capital.

The explosion took place at about 3:50p.m today near a fish market along Baga Road in Maiduguri, an eyewitness said in a telephone interview.

Though, the casualty figure is not clear yet, a civilian vigilante assisting the military against Boko Haram said many people may have been killed witnessed the incident said the bomb went off at about 3:50pm

The witness, who put the death toll at 22, said the bombers disguised as beggars.


“I have counted 22 bodies but soldiers have now arrived and cordoned off the area,” he said.

Since the beginning of Ramadan, this is the first time that the city, which has come under repeated attacks from suspected Boko Haram insurgents, would experience such attack.
