The men of the Bayelsa State Police Command have arrested the Traditional Ruler of Otuokpoti, Chief A.C.T Wongo, a father in law to the Commissioner of Commerce and Investment, Mr Federal Otokiti who was abducted on Thursday.
Investigation revealed that the police arrested Chief Wongo, the Community Development Committee Chairman, Azibalua Amon and the youth President, Emolem Igu, in connection with the commissioner’s abduction.
A source who confided in our correspondent said that the police have detained the deposed monarch and the others for allegedly being complicit in the abduction of the commissioner.
The commissioner who was rescued on through the collaborative efforts of the State Governor, Senator Douye Diri and security operatives is married to the first daughter of the King of Otuokpoti now in police custody.
It was further gathered that the police are on the trail four others who are also suspected to be involved in the commissioner’s abduction.
The police had earlier arrested the father of the prime suspect in connection with the abduction saga.
Governor Diri, who said preliminary investigation revealed that illegal refining of crude was connected to the kidnap, warned all those involved in such business in the state to stop forthwith.
