Ban Ki-Moon Demands Unconditional Release Of Chibok Girls

United Nations Secretary-General, Mr. Ban Ki-Moon on Monday reiterated his call for the unconditional release of the over 200 Chibok schoolgirls abducted by the Boko Haram terror sect since last year.

Ki-Moon, who spoke with State House Correspondents after a closed door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House, Abuja expressed confidence in the current administration’s change agenda.

Noting the position of Nigeria within the continent of Africa, the UN Secretary General stated that “when you change Nigeria, you have also changed Africa.”

While commending President Buhari for prioritizing security and anti-corruption war, he pledged the UN’s support for Nigeria.

Also speaking, President Buhari said discussions at the the meeting with the UN Secretary General focused on the difficult time Nigeria had found itself and possible assistance from UN.

He expressed gratitude to the UN scribe for extending invitation to him to attend the UN General Assembly holding in New York on September 27 and 28.

Ki-Moon will return to the Presidential Villa by 7pm for a dinner organised in his honour.
