Atiku Clinches PDP Presidential Ticket


By Sadiq Umar – Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has emerged as the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 general elections.

Mr. Abubakar defeated the Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, Senate President, Bukola Saraki and nine others in the race for the presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party holding in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The former Vice President polled a total of 1585 votes while his closest rivals, Mr. Tambuwal and Mr. Saraki recorded 693 votes and 317 votes respectively.

The former Kano governor Rabiu Kwankwaso scored 158 votes.

Others are: Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, 111 votes;Jonah Jang, 19 votes; Datti Baba-Ahmed, 5 votes; David Mark, 35 votes; Kabir Turaki, 65 votes, Sule Lamido, 96 votes; Attahiru Bafarawa, 48 votes and Ahmed Markafi: 74 votes.

Haven polled the highest number of votes in the just concluded PDP 2019 Presidential primary election, former Vice President, HE Atiku Abubakar is hereby declared WINNER and Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP for 2019 Presidential election.
