Atiku, APC Leaders In Crucial Meeting

The National Leadership of the opposition All Peoples Congress (APC) and former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, are in crucial meeting in Abuja.

National Chairman of APC, Chief Bisi Akande, who led the party’s delegation to the parley which is taking place at the former Vice President’s no 18 Oba Akenzua Street Asokoro residence told journalists that the meeting was meant to address current national issues.

Row call of APC leaders at the meeting include former Head of State, Mohammadu Buhari, Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu, Governor Shettima of Borno state and his predecessor, Ali Modu Sheriff, former House of Reps Speaker, Aminu Masari and other APC stalwarts.

The meeting which started at 11.30 am is being held behind closed door, but details of the discussion are being expected.

Akande said having worked with Atiku in the past; the APC felt it was necessary to meet with the former vice president in order to rescue the country from its current democratic travails.

Atiku who received the delegation warmly, congratulated the APC for organizing what he called “this long great expected party.”

Earlier, Atiku had hailed the merger that produced the mega opposition party, pointing out his preference for two party system in Nigeria.
