At Last, Buhari To Speak To Nigerian By 7 P.m.

News Investigators/ After a long disturbing silence, President Muhammadu Buhari will this evening make a national broadcast at 7pm.

Mr. Buhari is expected to address the nation on the current break down of security across the country after two weeks of protest by youths who demanded an end to police brutality and disbandment of the Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS), a notorious arm of the police.

The peaceful protest assumed violent dimension Tuesday following the shooting of protesters by the military.

Mr. Buhari had maintained a disturbing silence while the nation was burning at the aftermath of the shooting.

Presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina, in a statement awhile ago announced that Mr. Buhari would address the nation following detailed briefing by security chiefs on the current situation in the country,

Television, radio and other electronic media outlets are enjoined to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Radio Nigeria respectively for the broadcast.
