ANAMBRA BILLIONAIRE DIES DURING AFCON SEMI FINAL MATCH BETWEEN NIGERIA AND SOUTH AFRICA

A business mogul, High Chief Osondu Nwoye ( Angus) is among four Nigerians who died watching the dramatic AFCON semi final match between Nigeria and South Africa on Wednesday.

Tension escalated in Nigerian communities across the world when the Egyptian referee awarded a penalty to South Africa immediately after acknowledging Nigeria’s second goal which he later cancelled. 

The Network gathered the business man who is based in Côte d’Ivoire slumped and died during the penalty kicks.

Obi Cubana who confirmed the death of Nwoye in a post on instagram described him as an amazing personality.

“Yesterday’s match has taken some very important people why, Nwachinemelu!!! Amazing human! Hosted us massively just last Sunday.”

It was stated that the businessman, a lover of football was seen celebrating in the stadium when Nigeria’s second was goal scored by Victor Osimhen.

Amidst escalating tension caused by the match, the referee canceled the goal and awarded a penalty against Nigeria. 

Nwoye was said to have collapsed when the penalty was awarded against Nigeria and the second goal which would have sealed the national ‘s victory was canceled.

Efforts made to revive him were not successful as he died on his way to the hospital.

Others who died watching the match were a former Executive Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Cairo Ojougboh, the Deputy Bursar of Kwara State University, Malete, Alhaji Ayuba Abdullahi, and a Member of the National Youths Service Corp serving in Adamawa State identified as Samuel.
