AMOTEKUN OPERATIVES ARREST 150 ‘INVADERS’ IN ONDO

The Ondo State Security Network, the Amotekun Corps, has intercepted about 150 suspected invaders of northern extraction in Akure, the state capital.

The Network gathered that the travelers were arrested during a stop and search operation by operatives of the Corp along the Akure/Ado-Ekiti Highway.

A security source said that the 150 people with no clear destination were being conveyed into the state in two trucks at the time of their arrest.

Upon interrogation, the drivers of the two trucks claimed that suspiciously large number of travelers were were moved from Abuja, Kano, Katsina, and Jigawa states to Ondo State.

The Commander of Amotekun in Ondo State, Adetunji Adeleye, told journalists that the travelers hid under bags of rice and beans in the trucks.

He stressed that the travelers could not tell their exact mission in the state.

According to him, items recovered from them include motorcycles with no valid papers, charms and photographs.

The Amotekun Commander said that the travelers would undergo profiling and interrogation and would be returned to where they were coming from.
