Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State, his counterpart in Kogi and Dakuku Peterside are among contestants that emerged as candidates that will flag the All Progressive Congress (APC) flags in the next year governorship elections.
All APC incumbent governors seeking second term in office emerged candidates in their various states while new candidates also emerged in other states to face those that would be emerging from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in its congresses slated for next this weekend.
Among new candidates are Peterside Dakuku who emerged in Rivers state as APC flagbearer and Okey Ezea in Enugu state.
Counting is still on in Lagos as at the time of this report.
However, Armed policemen dispersed political thugs who invaded the venue of the Lagos All Progressive Congress (APC) primaries with series of gunshots.
Police fired live bullets outside the Onikan Stadium in a bid to prevent political thugs from hijacking the ongoing primaries.
