By Nuel Suji – The Chairman Senate Ad Hoc Committee on Mounting Humanitarian Crisis in the northeast, Shehu Sani on Thursday  said his committee is not aware of any court order stopping it from investigating the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal and others.

He said his committee did not receive any letter contrary to media report on Wednesday.

Lawal was scheduled to appear before the Senate Committee on Wednesday but in another letter dated 22nd March, urged lawmakers to reschedule the appointment.

“I will not be able to appear before the committee primarily because of a pressing engagement of government which clashes with the date and time of hearing.

“I kindly request a rescheduling of the hearing, please, his letter reads.

Lawal is to appear before Senate over an alleged N200 million contract scam involving a company Rholavision Engineering Ltd.

Senate accepts SGF request to reschedule and would communicate to him a new date when he is expected to appear before it.
