AEDC Unveils Apps To Expand Digital Service Channels

News Investigators/ The Abuja Electricity Distribution Plc. (AEDC) has unveiled the MyPower Mobile and Web Apps to expand its digital service channels.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of AEDC, Chijioke Okwuokenye, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja.

Mr Okwuokenye said the digital service channels would provide customers with faster and easier access to a wide range of electricity services through their mobile devices or web browsers.

He said the launch formed part of AEDC’s Customer Service Week activities, reinforcing the company’s commitment to putting customers at the heart of everything it does.

According to him, the apps would give customers greater convenience, accessibility and control in managing their electricity services.

He said the launch marked another step in AEDC’s digital transformation and customer experience journey as the company continued to leverage technology to make its services more accessible and responsive.

“The apps bring essential electricity services together in one digital ecosystem.

“Customers can buy electricity tokens anytime and anywhere, pay their bills, report power outages and other service issues, and lodge and track complaints.

“Customers can also view their energy consumption, access bills and payment receipts, manage multiple accounts and meters, and update their personal information digitally,” he said.

Mr Okwuokenye said the platforms also included a staff verification feature, enabling customers to confirm the identity of AEDC personnel before granting them access to their premises.

He said the two digital options would give customers greater flexibility in choosing how they interacted with AEDC.

He said customers who preferred mobile access could use the app, while those who preferred to use a computer or mobile browser could access the web app and enjoy a range of services and benefits.

“The apps will bring key transactions, account management and service requests into a connected digital environment.

“The staff verification feature also provides an additional layer of security during customer interactions.

“The apps will also allow customers to confirm the identity of AEDC personnel before granting them access to their premises,” he said.

In the statement, AEDC’s Chief Operating Officer, Blessing Ogbe, said the apps reflected the company’s focus on continuously improving the customer journey.

Ogbe said the launch was another step in redefining the way the company served its customers.

“We are building a culture where customer feedback informs how we design our processes, improve our channels and deliver our services.

“The apps reflect that approach, and we will continue to listen, learn and innovate to ensure that the experience we provide keeps pace with the expectations of the customers we serve.

“AEDC remains focused on building a service experience that is increasingly connected to the needs and expectations of its customers.

“As the company advances its digital journey, the apps will continue to evolve, with new capabilities to create greater value and provide customers with more ways to access their electricity services,” Ogbe said.
