Adelabu battles Folarin, others for 2023 APC governorship ticket in Oyo….describes Makinde as collosal failure

Former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, (CBN) and 2019 governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Adebayo Adelabu has declared the forthcoming governorship primary as no contest.

Adelabu will be contesting the party ticket with other aspirants including Senator Teslim Folarin and former Commissioner for Health, Dr. Azeez Adeduntan next Thursday.

The governorship aspirant who declared his governorship ambition at the party old Secretariat, Oke-Ado in Ibadan South East local governmetnt area said he would outshine other aspirants with his wealth of experience in the public and private sectors.

Adelabu who admitted that APC lost the 2019 governorship election to coalition forces said the mistakes of the past would be corrected through massive supports and votes for the APC in 2023.

Adelabu who described the massive turnout at the event as a further confirmation of his endorsement by not only the members of APC but the entire people of the state promised not to take their supports for granted.

He dispelled the rumour of the reported crack in the state chapter of the party, arguing that the party remains one formidable family.

The former Deputy Governor of the CBN said the major assignment before the APC members in the state is how to wrest power from Governor Seyi Makinde.

The APC aspirant while unfolding his economic blueprint said security would form parts of his cardinal programmes for the state, if he eventually secure the party ticket and subsequently wins the governorship election in 2023.

“I have done it as the Chairman of the Security Committee put in place by the immediate past administration of Governor Abiola Ajimobi and the records are there for people to see.

“Also, Oyo is an agrarian state. We are going to promote farming, as well encourage farmers from Oke Ogun, which he dubbed as the food basket of the State.

“If encouraged and supported, farmers from that axis can feed the entire state with their farms produce

“We can extend the rail lines from the present Terminal, Moniya to Kisi for easy transportation of farm produce from that axis to the main markets.

“Also, the education sector will be revived. The sector is nothing to write home about. The teachers are not working in a conducive environment. No on the jobs training and promotion for teachers.”
