Adamawa Organizes 3-Day Prayers For Buhari

By Tom Garba, Yola – The Adamawa state Governor, Umaru Jibrilla Bindow, has urged Nigerians to pray for President Muhammadu Buhari for God to give him a speedy recovery, even as he planned a 3-day prayer session for the president.

Mr. Bindow made the appeal to the council members during the executive weekly meeting in Hong saying that a 3-day prayers session in the state is quickly going to be observed.

He urged both the Muslims and Christian faithfuls to use Friday and Sunday worship period to pray fervently  for God intervention in President Buhari’s health issues.

Also at the meeting,the council approved N221 million for accreditation of courses at the College of Education (COE) Hong, preparatory to up grading the college to degree awarding institution.

Earlier, the provost of the college Dr Johnson Pongri, said the National University Commission (NUC) has approved 12 out of the 16 courses applied as pilot courses to kick start the degree program.

Pongri said the courses includes,degree program in Chemistry,Biology,Integrated Science,and Economic.

Others are Agriculture, Home Economics, IRK, CRK, English language, Psychology and Geography.

The provost further explained that the institution would recruit lectures mainly those with master and Ph.D. for the degree program noting that where challenges are identified,the college intend to contracts best lectures from other institutions on sabbaticals to augment the challenges.

He however stated that the college lost 6 functional vehicles as well as 884 detached houses belonging to,students at Dulboni village was completely razed down by the terrorists.

The councils also approved the procurement of 50,000 tons of fertilizer to boost agricultural activities in the state.
