ADAMAWA: BUHARI ORDERS IGP,  DG, DSS, COMMANDANT NSCDC, TO INVESTIGATE ROLE OF OFFICERS 

… APPROVES IMMEDIATE SUSPENSION OF BARR. HUDU YUNUSA-ARI, ADAMAWA REC

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Thursday, instructed the Inspector General of Police, Baba Alkali Baba to investigate all the security agencies officials involved in the alleged electoral fraud in the just concluded supplementary governorship election in Adamawa State.

The President also approved the immediate suspension from office of Barr. Hudu Yunusa Ari, Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), of Adamawa State pending the completion of investigation by the Inspector General of Police on the conduct and actions of the REC, during the Supplementary election in the State.

Director, Information, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Willie Bassey, said in a statement  on Thursday in a statement that the President directed their immediate investigation and prosecution.

He added that if found liable, by the Inspector General of Police, that Barr. Hudu Yunusa-Ari, would face prosecution.

According to the statement, the President, also directed investigation by the Inspector General of Police,  Director-General of the Department of State Services, and the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, of the role of their officers in aiding and abetting the conduct and actions of Barr. Hudu Yunusa-Ari and if found culpable, appropriate disciplinary actions, would  be taken  against  them them.
