23 Widows, Girls Abducted In Zamfara

News Investigators/ About 23 persons, including widows and young girls, have been abducted by armed bandits in Damaga village in Maradun local government area of Zamfara State.

The armed bandits in large numbers reportedly invaded Damaga village in the early hours of Wednesday and kidnapped some widows and young girls.

A resident of the area Malam Musa Dan Damaga, however, told newsmen that the incident occured around noon on Wednesday.

“The kidnapped victims went to look for firewood, they comprises of teenage girls and widows,” the source told Tribune.

“As I’m talking to you we’ve discovered more than twenty of them were in captivity,” the source added.

When contacted for confirmation on the incident, Zamfara Police Command Public Relations Officer, ASP. Yazeed Abubakar could not be reached as at press time.
