News Investigators/ Nasarawa state Governor, Abdullahi Sule, on Saturday inaugurated a campaign council to drive his 2027 senatorial ambition for Nasarawa North Senatorial District.
The inauguration, held at his campaign office in Akwanga Local Government Area, attracted APC chieftains, stakeholders and party faithful from Akwanga, Nasarawa-Eggon and Wamba LGAs.
Mr Sule named Sen. Philip Gyunka as Chairman of the campaign council, with Bala Moses-John as Director-General and Aliyu Safiyanu-Maizuma as Secretary.
Other members include Timothy Anjide, Chairman of the Campaign Advisory Committee; Adamu Tanko-Umar, Director of Administration and Finance; Dr Justina Kotso, Director of Women Mobilisation; Dr Kassim Muhammad-Kassim, Director of Youth Mobilisation; and Mukthar Wakeel, Director of Media and Social Media.
The governor said his decision to contest followed calls by stakeholders and his desire to continue serving the people at the federal level after completing his tenure on May 29, 2027.
“My administration has laid a foundation for peace, infrastructure and industrial growth. I believe Nasarawa North deserves a strong voice in the Senate to consolidate these gains and attract more federal presence,” he said.
Mr Sule added that the council was also tasked with mobilising support for President Bola Tinubu, Sen. Ahmed Wadada, his preferred successor, and all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
He expressed confidence in the council members, citing their experience and capacity to deliver victory at both the primaries and general elections.
Speaking, Safiyanu Isa-Andaha, Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in the state and Chairman of Akwanga LGA, described the governor as a worthy son of the zone.
Mr Isa-Andaha said the people of Nasarawa North would reward Sule with a senatorial seat in 2027 in recognition of the development recorded under his administration.
Responding on behalf of the council, Bala Moses-John said the governor had demonstrated leadership and translated his vision into tangible development across sectors.
He described Mr Sule as a tested leader with the capacity and integrity required to represent the zone effectively at the Senate.
Mr Moses-John said the campaign council had established 10 directorates and structures across the 35 electoral wards and 586 polling units in the zone.
He added that the team would run an issue-based, inclusive and peaceful campaign.
“We will reach every ward, every polling unit and every home to showcase the governor’s achievements and vision. Our campaign will be based on facts and not insults,” he said.
He also pledged that the council would work for the success of Tinubu, Wadada and all APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
