News Investigators/ Nasarawa lawmake, Mohammed Omadefu, has expressed confidence that the Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate, ex-IGP Mohammed Adamu, would comfortably win the 2027 governorship election in Nasarawa.
Mr Omadefu, Chairman of the House Committee on Environment, Housing and Natural Resources, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, stated this on Wednesday while playing host to his 1985 classmates of Central Primary School, Keana, in Nasarawa State.
The lawmaker, who represents Keana Constituency, said the former Police boss had done a lot for the people of the state while serving as Inspector General of Police (IGP).
Mr Omadefu called on his classmates and other people of the state to support Adamu and all other SDP candidates to succeed in 2027.
“By God’s grace, our SDP candidate, ex-IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, will win the governorship seat in 2027 in the state.
“Ex-IGP Adamu has the support of the grassroots, he has done much and is still doing in the areas of empowerment through the distribution of cars, motorcycles, foodstuff, among other empowerment programmes,” he said.
Mr Omadefu, who was the school Head Boy, appreciated his classmates for identifying with him and assured them of his support at all times.
He used the medium to urge parents to give topmost priority to the education of their children.
The lawmaker said that the importance of education to societal development could not be overemphasised, hence the need for all to put hands on deck.
He said no society would achieve meaningful progress without sound and quality education.
“This forum will help us to interface, interact and help each other,” he said.
Mr Omadefu urged them to continue to maintain the cordial relationship and help one another when the need arises.
He outlined his achievements in the areas of jobs, health, education and water, among others, as a member representing Keana constituency.
“I have done well and I am still doing well for the people of my constituency.
“I have given jobs, empowerment and executed people-oriented projects for the development of Keana LGA.
“These projects have direct bearing on the lives of our people,” he said.
Mr Omadefu assured of continued sound and quality representation at the state legislature, while pledging to initiate projects in the school as legacy projects.
Earlier, Asabe Abdullahi, leader of the delegation, said the visit was to identify with Omadefu over his good leadership style.
Mrs Abdullahi, who was the school Head Girl, assured of their readiness to go to every nook and cranny of Keana LGA to mobilise support for the lawmaker to succeed.
“We will continue to pray for you to succeed in your 2027 third-term ambition. We will mobilise support for you to succeed and by God’s grace, victory is yours come 2027,” she prayed.
