2027: APC Support Group Endorses Prof. Haruna For Nasarawa Governorship

News Investigators/ The Renewed Hope Grassroot Movement (T-RHGM), an All Progressive Congress (APC) support group, has endorsed Muhammad Haruna as its preferred candidate for the 2027 Nasarawa State governorship election.

The group made the endorsement during a press conference in Lafia on Saturday, describing Haruna as the most qualified aspirant to lead the state.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Umar Abdullahi, State Secretary of T-RHGM, said the endorsement was based on Prof. Haruna’s contributions to industrialisation, human capital development and infrastructure in the state.

Mr Abdullahi said that Prof. Haruna had facilitated several developmental projects and institutions to Nasarawa, particularly through the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI).

He listed some of the projects to include the Agricultural Equipment and Machinery Development Institute (AMEDI), Lafia, and the Solid Minerals Machinery and Equipment Development Institute (SOMMEDI).

According to him, SOMMEDI is the first institute of its kind in Sub-Saharan Africa and is expected to boost value addition in the mining sector and create employment opportunities.

He also mentioned the establishment of the NASENI Renewable Energy Industrial Park in Gora, Karu Local Government Area, as well as skill acquisition centres in Keffi and Agwada in Kokona Local Government Area.

The secretary further said Prof. Haruna facilitated the establishment of a solar modules manufacturing plant in Karshi to support clean energy development and local production of solar panels.

He added that the professor had also supported the employment of more than 1,000 youths in NASENI and other Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) across the country.

Mr Abdullahi said Prof. Haruna had equally facilitated scholarships and admissions for many indigenes of the state within and outside Nigeria.

He said the professor also contributed to the construction and rehabilitation of roads, bridges, schools, water facilities and solar streetlights in rural communities across the state.

“These projects have placed Nasarawa State at the centre of Nigeria’s industrialisation and technology development agenda.

“They reflect Prof. Haruna’s ability to attract federal presence, create jobs, build skills and lay the foundation for sustainable economic growth,” he said.

Mr Abdullahi expressed confidence that Haruna possessed the experience and leadership capacity needed to accelerate development and unite the people of the state.

He added that his leadership would align with the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
