The former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and -ex Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomole, on Sunday declared that women are strong political partners and pillars in any democratic society.
He said women are the most trusted and faithful partners in politics, stressing that they are extremely important in the Nigerian politics.
Oshiomole disclosed this at the maiden Edo North APC’s Women’s Conference, held in Iyamho, Uzairue, Etsako West Local Government Area of the state, which was organised by the Women’s Wing of the party.
According to him, neglecting women or undermining their roles is dangerous explaining that women are known to be more committed and loyal to both the candidate and the party.
Last two weeks, Oshiomole declared interest in the Edo North Senatorial seat.
He said that partnering with women in politics is very critical when one is seeking to go far.
The former Chairman of APC, thanked the women for their commitment and courageous spirit to seek political relevance and hold political offices.
Mrs Dame Omua-Okpaku, who responded on behalf of the women said the Women’s Conference was coming at the right time stating that some of the issues raised and debated at the conference would also be beneficial on the rights and privileges of women in the ongoing nationaI discourse in the National Assembly.
