19 KILLED IN TANZANIA PLANE CRASH 

A total of number 19 people were reported to have died in the Precision Air line Crash in Tanzania.

Precision Air, the largest private owned confirmed that 19 passengers died while 24 survivors were recorded in the crash of flight PW 494 which  occurred on Sunday morning when the ill-fated plane carry 43 passengers crashed into Lake Victoria. 

According to the airline the passengers comprise  38 Adults, one Infant and  four crew members.

“Precision Air regrets to confirm that 19 fatalities and 24 survivors have now been reported by the emergency services at the scene of the accident involving flight PW-494 which crashed at Lake Victoria in Bukoba today,” the airline wrote in its official Twitter handle 

Reuters quoting the Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation (TBC) reported that the crash occurred while the plane was attempting to land in stormy weather at an airport in the lakeside city of Bukoba, Tanzania.

The Tanzanian authorities deployed emergency workers who were seen around the aircraft in an operation to rescue  passengers trapped in the plane

The President of Tanzania Samia Suluhu Hassan reportedly called for calm even as efforts are ongoing to rescue  more passengers.

“I have received with sadness the news of the accident involving Precision Air’s plane. 

“Let’s be calm at this moment when rescuers are continuing with the rescue mission while praying to God to help us.” She tweeted
