UPDATE: Madagali Council Chairman Calls For Urgent Rescue Action

By Dan Garba,Yola – The Adamawa State Police Command on Friday confirmed the incidence of twin bomb blasts that rocked Madagali central market in which scores of persons were reportedly killed, just as the Council Chairman is calling for urgent action to rescue Madagali because of its vulnerability to attacks.

Police Public Relations Officer in the State, Othman Abubakar said its men have since been deployed to that area.

The Council Chairman of Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa state, Hon. Yusuf Mohammed called on the relevant authorities to “totally rescue Madagali and the environs as is strategically situated between Sambisa forest and sharing boundary with southern Borno who are the worst hit of Boko Haram insurgency.

According to him, food stuff of different varieties worth millions of Naira have been destroyed by the blast.

He said the blast occurred at the earlier hours of today and casualties have not been ascertain at the time of filing In this report.
