Former Governor of Ogun state and chieftain of the All Progressive Congress APC, Chief Olusegun Osoba and some of his loyalists in National Assembly were conspicuously absent at the National Convention of the party in Abuja.

The Osoba group had earlier protested the recent recognition conferred on the Governor Ibikunle Amosun loyalist state exco, which climaxed the festering crisis within the Ogun state chapter of the party.

However, Governor Amosun on Friday led a large delegate of party supporters to the convention while the Osoba group shunning the all important party event.

“We only have one Rep (member) with us here at the convention, Bode Mustapha and other National Assembly members are not with us,” retorted a source, who added, “You know Akinlade has returned to PDP?”

Party sources at the Eagle Square convention venue told News Investigators that the internal conflict rocking the party in the state had gone so bad, adding that the Osoba group which includes a member of the House of Representatives and three serving senators are already exploring the option of moving to the Unity Party of Nigeria UPN.

“They cannot stand it any longer, even though they are mindful of the need to also ensure that the state did not slip from Amosun to Labour party because of Governor Daniel, they are talking to Faseun party, UPN. So l can tell you that they are on their way to UPN,” the sources added.
