…Council of Ulamas Raises Alarm On Terrorist’s Plot To Disguise In Hijab
A notorious terrorist beleived to have led serial attacks on security personnel, Mallam Husaini has died in an encounter between his group and a military convoy along Jos – Bauchi highway.
Even as the National Chairman, Council of Ulama of Jammatul Izalatul Bidia Waikamatu Sunnah (JIBWIS), Shiekh Sani Yahaya Jingir raised alarm that terrorists are planning to disguise using the Islamic veil (Hijab) in launching attack on people during the Ramadam period.
The Defence headquarters in its tweet described the encounter as the ‘last operation of terror gang leader Husaini.’
According to the defence hqtrs, Husaini who leads a cell of the terrorists billed to operate in the Plateau is known to have led an attack on Headquarters, Police Special Anti-Robbery Squad in Abuja in November 2012.
“He also led the attack on military convoy moving from Lokoja to Kaduna where 2 soldiers were killed in January 2013.
“The terrorists gang had attacked a military convoy while on an operational patrol between Jos and Bauchi. At the end of the encounter, the Ford bus used by the terrorists was captured, 8 primed Improvised Explosive Devices, rifles, pistols and about 70 rounds of ammunition.
“Also at Malamfatori in Borno State, security personnel in pursuit of a band of terrorists who attacked a police station, recovered the vehicles stolen by the gang as it was abandoned while they fled into Niger Republic.
“Other items which included uniforms of security organisations as well as protective gears, boots and other goods which they had stolen from various locations towards Nigeria – Niger border were also recovered by troops.
In another development, two men, Sani Sule and Idris Rume who were found loitering around the Aba Prisons have been arrested by officers of the Nigerian Prisons and handed over to troops in the state for further investigations.
Meanwhile, the National Chairman, Council of Ulama of Jammatul Izalatul Bidia Waikamatu Sunnah (JIBWIS), Shiekh Sani Yahaya Jingir has raised alarm that terrorists are planning to use Islamic veil (Hijab) in launching their evil attack on the people during the Ramadam period.
Jingir made the disclosure on Friday at JIBWIS national seminar in Jos, Plateau State.
He said, “Reliable information had reached us that some non-Muslims had purchased large quantity of ‘Hijab and Jallabiya’ in some markets in Jos.
“We have gathered that terrorists and their cohorts the enemies of peace have resorted to use our Islamic mode of dressing to launch their devilish act of attacking innocent souls during the forthcoming Ramadan Tafsir where Muslims faithful gathered.
“We observed that this new trend is targeted at demonizing our Islamic way of life and poses a threat to our women, as our women cannot stop using Hijab because it is one of our religious rites. No amount of propaganda would stop us from using Hijab.
“I urge all religious and community leaders to educate their followers and device means of taking precautions steps against the terrorists.
The Islamic cleric frowned at the recent media clamp down by the military, describing it as a bad omen for the country’s development.
