Senate Leader, Sen. Victor Ndoma-Egba (SAN) on Tuesday demanded for “a thorough investigation” into the alleged killing of the son of former Bayelsa State governor, Chief Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, Oyamieyifa, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates at the weekend

This is even as the Senate Leader described the kidnap of former President of the Nigeria Bar Association, Aminu Wali, as “an act of brigandage.”

In a statement issued by his Media Adviser, Ignatius Uzuegbunam, the Senate Leader deplored the “senseless kidnapping of Wali because he is neither a money-bag nor a politically-exposed person.

“The kidnap is a needless act of brigandage against somebody whose commitment to peace and Justice is total and well-known.”

Ndoma-Egba called for his “release forthwith and unconditionally.” On the death of Oyamieyifa, he described it as “unfortunate. This is one incident no parent prays for. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Alamieyeseigha family at this time of unquantifiable grief.”

The Senate Leader noted that the killing “should be thoroughly investigated by the UAE authorities.”
